Chams Plc hosted about 60 students from the Volunteer Corps Scheme to an excursion at the globally acclaimed digital mall, Chamscity located at Ikeja GRA, Lagos.
The excursion held during the week, saw the excited students being shown around by Chams City’s Gabriel Udoh.
They were treated to a facility tour and were taught how the thousands of computers at the centre were connected.
Speaking on the experience, Mrs. Adeola Awogbemi, executive director, Volunteer Corps, said, “We are extremely grateful for the support Chams Plc has lent to Volunteer Corps from inception and I dare say that without Chams Plc there is no Volunteer Corps.”
“In this era where JAMB has announced 100% CBT based UTME from 2015, it is important every student becomes ICT compliant and excursions like this will enable them do so,” added Awogbemi.
“I have been passing this place but didn’t know this kind of huge facility existed inside and now I know what CBT means even though we have been hearing about it but didn’t know the meaning,” remarked one of the students.
The students were allowed some minutes of free internet browsing and they could not contain their excitement.
“We are glad it was both a fun and educational experience for the students, we had a great time with them,” commented Gabriel Udoh.
