One of my mentors who doubles as one of the biggest media moguls in Africa once said to me; "CFA, I believe in the power of technology to transform the African economy. In fact, it is the only way we can develop and catch up with other parts of the world."

This simple statement, shared just about three years ago, has stayed on in my sub-conscious all these while and, I daresay, it holds true in many areas of our National life. As an example, why has the banking system suddenly become more transparent?

The Government took the bull by the horn and implemented the Bank Verification Number, (BVN).

This is an example of what is possible with technology. If the Government finds the political will to deal with many other issues in this country, using technology as the foundation, our lives will be a whole lot better.

Be that as it may, I am happy that Nigerian Startups are growing in leaps and bounds, attracting lots of international attention while trying to disrupt the establishment, (apologies to President Trump).

We have observed that not all Startups are captured in what is going on in Yaba, so, we are also doing our best to create a situation where more Startups will be given the opportunity to grow and develop.

Enter CFA's Startups Hangout Pitch Sessions, which is designed to further add value to Startups who attend each month's session of the Hangout.

This means that, they not only get a chance to learn from our Speakers, they will also have the opportunity to hear what the Speakers think about their business, presentation, value proposition and the rest. Lastly, the Startup that comes tops in the pitch session will get to have a one-on-one with me and I am sure they will find the exposure valuable.

Our Speakers for the April 2017 edition of CFA's Startups Hangout are Helen Anatogu, CEO, iDea Nigeria and Yele Okeremi, CEO, Precise Financial Systems. Both of them will play a number of roles on the 14th of April, 2017, which the Startups will not forget in a hurry.

If you are a startup and you wish to attend, then,  register @ http://startups.cfatech.ng

After registering to attend the Hangout, you can, afterwards also register to enter for the Pitch session through this link

A reputable panel is on ground to review and recommend the 5 Startups that will be selected for the pitch presentation.

CFA is the Founder, www.CFAtech.ng & Co-producer/Presenter,Tech Trends on Channels Television.
