NIEEE Nominates Ndukwe for DEEEAL Lecture

The Nigerian Institution of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (NIEEE) has nominated Engr. Ernest Ndukwe, the executive vice chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission, to deliver the 2008 Distinguished Electrical and Electronics Engineer Annual Lecture (DEEEAL) scheduled for Lagos at the Sheraton Lagos Hotel & Towers on December 2, 2008.
Engr. Richard Adenekan, chairman of the organizing committee of DEEEAL 2008, disclosed the nomination in Lagos said that following the tradition of all the DEEEAL series, Engr. Ndukwe has satisfied all criteria to be nominated as DEEEAL lecturer for 2008.
According to him, ‘Ndukwe’s track record and dynamism as executive vice chairman of NCC has placed the Commission on the global map, and positioned Nigeria as one of the fastest growing telecoms destinations in the world.’ 
He said DEEEAL lecture is a means of recognizing and bestowing deserved honor on professional Electrical/Electronics Engineers who have distinguished themselves in the practice of the profession.
He said the topic of this year’s DEEEAL lecture is “From the Backwaters to Regional Hub: Tracking the Role of the Regulator in Nigeria’s Telecom Revolution,” which represents the logical chronology of the role of the Regulator in launching Nigeria from its position on the backwaters of the telecom industry about seven years ago to assuming its current enviable position.
