Suburban, Tata Communications Partner on Network Support Services

Suburban West Africa, supplier of wholesale Internet, international connectivity and corporate data, has entered into partnership with Tata Communications Transformation Services (TCTS) India, for process transformation, next generation operational systems support (NG OSS) and network support services.
With a leadership position in emerging markets, Tata Communications leverages its advanced solutions capabilities and domain expertise across its global and pan-India network to deliver managed solutions to multi-national enterprises and service providers.
Under the agreement, Suburban will re-examine its processes to improve service delivery and assurance at reduced cost based on eTOM (Enhanced Telecom Operation Map) model as well as upgrade technology, and improve resilience to provide top-rate services to its customers. The company will also achieve the TL9000 certification which is the highest quality assurance certification in telecommunication services.
More so, Suburban’s network operations center located in Abuja will now have a disaster recovery center in Pune, India, manned by staff of Tata Communications. Both network operations centers will work seamlessly and ensure that customers get better response and service especially in the wake of growing threats to Internet services in Nigeria.
Incidences of virus and other malicious attacks on Internet services including denial of service, which some ISPs in Nigeria have experienced, have been on the rise and it is expected that Tata Communication’s global expertise in this regard will help stem this tide.
According to Anil Verma, chief technical officer, Tata Communications, “at the culmination of this exercise, customers will feel a very positive impact through seamless interaction with Suburban technical personnel and  highly improved quality and reliability of our network,” adding that his team was constantly seeking ways of improving customer experience and reliability on the Suburban network.
