NIpost Embraces ICT Reforms

Ibrahim Mori Baba, Postmaster general of the federation has said that Information Technology reforms in the postal organization are long overdue for it to be able to meet up with the challenges facing it. He also said that Nipost is now set to embrace ICT for efficient service delivery,
The postmaster general stated this in a ceremony held in honour of some Nipost workers who performed creditably well in office last year.
He said that Nipost needs modem Information Technology equipment to network faster and face the global challenges in ICT sector which has taken the center stage in every sector of our economy.
According to him, ICT has compelled Nipost to look for new innovative ways to be able to meet with the global challenges of today and compete with its counterparts elsewhere.
Mori Baba explained that the Nigerian postal agency is passing through a very critical period, but will leverage the use of Information Technology to improve its operations and  at the moment to make conventional postal services available to the people at all times.
He noted that the global challenges in ICT have now taken the centre stage in day to day transactions even in the banking sector while also saying that economies of the people and business transactions in which Nipost operate can not be left out.
He said the whole continent is now looking on to ICT as a new system of development therefore Nipost will also use the opportunity to look up to the technology to provide efficient and effective services to the people at an affordable rate. Awards were presented to deserving participant.
