EMC2, a leading information infrastructure technology company and its partner, CBC recently introduced the EMC backup, recovery and archival solution to a group of chief information officers (CIOs) of various corporate organizations.
The EMC2 archive strategy focuses on improving operational efficiency, application availability and information protection.
Rasheed Ola Jimoh, country manager, EMC2, said “the solution help customers avoid risks and reduce the cost associated with managing information while fully exploiting its value for best competitive advantage”.
He said tape has inherent challenges particularly as organizations become more dependent on IT while emphasizing that “the only reason you back up applications is to recover.”
“The solution eliminates redundant data by removing duplicate data to reduce the complexity of costly IT operations,” he said.
Franck Duval, Bura sales manager, North and West Africa emphasized that the EMC2 latest storage revolution gives higher performance, produces less energy to give more reliability at lower cost.
He said the application protocol interface (API) gives best TCO, simplest IT infrastructure and easiest information management. The solution assures content authencity and online access by ensuring that content data is not deleted or changed.
“Administrators can manage up to 50 times greater quantity of content making it easy to manage,” he said.
The solution works with any application or any platform to enable thousands of users share a multi application repository and facilitates governance and compliance requirements by enforcing retention set by the application.
