Glo Gives out 42,000 Free Access Lines to Ekiti Workers

 Globacom has supplied 42,000 free access lines to all civil servants in Ekiti State to facilitate the smooth execution of the business of the state.
The pre-paid lines are alphabetically-programmed and serialised according to the departments, parastatals and ministries of the beneficiaries.
The first number in the series was issued to Governor Segun Oni last Thursday in Ado Ekiti at an impressive ceremony witnessed by leading public functionaries in the state.
The lines are accompanied with a directory which captures the names of all the beneficiaries, their positions and locations. They were allocated to all staff of the state civil service as well as all workers of the local government areas for easy accessibility.
Mr. Tunde Amunikoro, Head, Public Sector Unit, Globacom, said Globacom was determined to positively affect every facet of Nigerian life and assist government in its bid to enhance productivity among workers in the state.
The package, he said, would help to close the communication gap within the civil service as well as reduce turnaround time drastically.
In his keynote address, Mr. Segun Oni, Governor of Ekiti State, said his administration’s vision is to achieve people-driven development, ensure qualitative and affordable public service delivery while reducing corruption and unnecessary red tapism. He also said his government is committed to justice, equity, transparency and accountability.
While expressing appreciation to Globacom for the largesse, the governor emphasized the need for corporate organizations to assist government at all levels to discharge their duties to the electorate.
He noted that the free access lines would facilitate easy communication among civil servants, reduce bureaucratic bottlenecks and foster unity and commitment to duty by the workers.
