Nigeria, UK Telecommunications Summit 2010 Holds in May

Perceptions of investors have found that “Africa is a Goldmine as far as telecom investments are concerned” for example Nigeria’s Information and Communications Technology sector is the largest in Africa, with over $18 bn of investments and 62% of the African market”.
Lancaster Conferences and Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC) are organising the Nigeria UK Telecommunications Summit 2010 with support from United Kingdom Trade and Investment (UKTI). This event will be held in London England, from the 13th to the 14th of May 2010, at Savoy Place, with a Gala event on the second evening. 
The essence of the summit is to provide a forum for learning which allows all established investors and new investors in the Nigerian telecommunications industry to meet with their peers and ultimately, expand their businesses. The Nigeria UK Telecommunications Summit is a gathering of the telecommunications industry and those with vested interests in its welfare.   Attracting the most-senior professionals from around the globe, the summit will provide a forum for the broad cross-section of stakeholders to exchange views, share ideas, challenge assumptions and plan for the future. This forum will be used to attract new investors to the Nigerian Telecommunications industry
Confirmed speakers for the forum are industry leaders from Nigeria and UK including representatives from Nigerian Communications Commission, Ministry of Information and Communication, Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), Nigerian Investments Promotion Commission (NIPC), Etisalat, MTN, Helios Tower, Synchronica, Multilinks, Zain, Mobitel, National Office for Technology Acquisition and Promotion (Notap); DAAR Group, BEN TV, Starcomms among others.
The purpose of the meeting is to build on the results of other summits’ consultation on Nigeria’s Telecommunication and Broadcasting Development and start the implementation process. The meeting is open to all stakeholders interested in the implementation process in the field of information and communication infrastructure and finance.
