 Bharti Airtel has announced the appointment of George Andah as the Chief Marketing Officer for its Nigerian operation.
Andah will be responsible for developing the marketing strategy, enhancing revenue & customer market share, development of innovative products and nurturing the brand in Nigeria.
Commenting on the appointment, Rajan Swaroop, CEO Nigeria said: “We are delighted to have George on board and believe that his experience will be invaluable as we build a stronger connection with our customers in Nigeria. George and his team will endeavor to deliver a superior brand experience, backed by world-class customer care, a distribution network that puts our products within arm’s reach and services that delight our customers. I wish George the very best in his new assignment.”  
Andah has over more than 15 years of experience in marketing and brand management, both in the telecom and fast moving consumer goods sectors.
Until recently, he served as the Chief Marketing Officer for MTN Ghana for over three years. Prior to joining the telecommunications industry, Andah worked for Guinness Breweries and SG-SSB Bank Limited. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree and MBA (Marketing). George was also recognized by the Chartered Institute of Marketing in Ghana as Marketing Practitioner of the Year 2009. In 2010, he was elected as a member of the Chief Marketing Officers Council for Africa.
The company said it would continue tapping into the diversity of Africa’s world-class talent pool.
