DStv is harnessing the power of online media interaction with its Facebook page and Twitter handle which have been introduced for the benefit of existing and potential subscribers.

Designed by MultiChoice Nigeria to bring its services closer to the end users, the DStv Nigeria Facebook page and Twitter handle have become active social media communities aimed at servicing customers in five core areas which include creating brand awareness, resolving customer service queries, providing sales and technical support, creating discussions around DStv content and channels, and rewarding fans via regular competitions and contests.

According to John Ugbe, managing director, MultiChoice Nigeria, “We’ve always had an innovative culture, so the shift to adopting the new ways our subscribers communicate and interact online has been quite natural”.
We believe that the growing influence of online media especially among youths has made it a veritable tool through which responsive corporate bodies like us can reach our ever-growing subscriber base.”

Segun Fayose, head, Corporate Communications at MultiChoice Nigeria also said “We believe that social media is an ideal medium to communicate our messages and also create an open forum for customer engagement. Additionally, it provides our subscribers with another layer of customer service that allows us to resolve their queries in real time”. He added that “these types of interactions are very important in showing that our brand is always listening and values our customers’ loyalty”.

With dedicated resources, the interactions on DStv Nigeria’s social media channels occur numerous times daily and with a rapidly increasing number of existing and potential customers who get regular updates on programmes and opportunities to win gift items. To join the conversations, DStv fans only need to ‘Like’ the DStv Nigeria Facebook and ‘Follow’ DStv Nigeria on Twitter.
