Daniel Malik, chief executive officer, Tradersball, online brand communications agency based in Lagos, has urged companies with different brands not to depend solely on social media as vital tools to reaching out to their customers.
Speaking with Nigeria CommunicationsWeek on telephone, Malik said that social media have prospects of registering any company’s brand presence in the customers’ domain, especially through interactions.
He dismissed claims by some marketers that they are driving customers’ loyalty to a brand through bulk short message system (SMS).
He said: “I am sure you get emails where marketers claim to sell you bulk emails in order to boost your brand, SMS to broadcast you or perhaps marketing your brand on social media. Sure they can and will get you the number of mails you want and even send hundreds of thousands of them for you, including sms and hype on their blogs but my question is do you get your desired results, do you see the promise they made to you manifest?”
The Tradersball boss highlighted that as much as the earth is now online with over 1billion people on Facebook, close to 300 million linkedin users, “some users on Twitter even have tens of millions of followers, Google plus, Pinterst etc Brands truly needs social media presence with strong engagement; but I must say that It is not by emailing, neither is it by sms nor Facebook or Twitter hype, but a creative strategic online marketing strategy, that will generate undeniable results”.
He added that, to attract attention to a particular product of service, cutting across telecommunications, media houses, boutique, estate management companies, fashion designers, schools, health care organizations, financial institution or any kind, it requires the services of the right social media agency.
“Let no one fool or trick you with figures and sweet talks ...it's all about getting results,” he advised
He explained that Tradersball is concerned with unlocking true business potentials, adding to companies’ online brand and increase sales by avoiding common online marketing mistakes.
He listed some of the tips to include: “Tap in to a pool of creative talent to make your online marketing more exciting and above all, far more effective; save time by working with one company that has the experience you need in print, web, digital and social media; save money with discounts of up to 30 percent on Africa's best wholesale online pricing and manage and grow your business with online marketing software, brand strategy and marketing workshops.
