NCDMB Calls for ICT Development Initiative for Secondary Schools

Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) has sent out requests for proposals (RFP) for its ICT Development Initiative for Secondary Schools in Ondo State, according to statement contained on Nigeria Computer Society (NCS) website.
  
Specifically the board invites technical and commercial proposals from corporate members of the Nigeria Computer Society (NCS) or organizations partnering with NCS.

Physical presence in Ondo state is a requirement.

The announcement indicates that RFP is developed in appreciation of "the positive impact of ICT on teaching, learning, research and local content development in the oil and gas industry.

The ICT sub-sector is one of the most important sectoral groups of the Board under the Nigerian content consultative Forum with great potential for employment generation, technology development and high tech-manufacturing."

To develop the required capacity, NCDMB is therefore supporting skills development in ICT in secondary schools in oil producing states, through the ICT Development Initiative which will cover the provision of basic infrastructure and ICT training in secondary schools.

The program will involve upgrade of facilities; and training of students and award of computer certificates.
