Mobile Software Solutions, leading African Mobile Games Company and Platform has released its gaming modalities as it flags-off the long awaited National Competition for Malaria Destruction (NCMD).

Chris Uwaje, chairman, Mobile Software Solution, said that NCMD is part of the core strategy of using “Technology to Fight Malaria” as well as creating awareness of the scorch of Malaria in Africa.

“With the criteria now released at www.mobilesoft.com.ng, the contestants are now challenged to conquer the e-Health adventure of the NCMD regional contest,” he said.

Uwaje quoted Bill Gates III on his TED on Malaria as saying that, “80% of the deaths on Malaria are due to ignorance”, noting that the insulting ignorance is what NCMD is set out to explore and defeat.

He said the competition is open to Nigerians whose age is not above 35 years and that qualified Nigerians are expected to register online and as well form a team made up of 2 or 3 individuals. 10 Teams will be selected from each region. There would be a total of 60 Teams.

Online registration opens from Monday, August 4, 2014, and closes on Sunday August 24, 2014. All pre-qualified teams for the regional contest shall be notified by Friday, August 29, 2014.

Download access shall be granted to all regional finalist for the regional contest. The Download Access shall be released to the finalists from August 29, to September 5, 2014. September 7 to 14, 2014 is official score upload/submission date. ALL contestants must upload and submit their Game Score using the “Submit Score” button. Regional winners' List shall be released by the panel of Judges on September 30th 2014.

He added that the team that emerged first winners will receive N500,000, second place team N250,000 and third place team will go home with N150,000.

Uwaje stated that: “with over 300,000 deaths every year by Malaria in Nigeria, the National Competition of Malaria Destruction becomes a mission- critical assignment for the nation. Malaria costs the nation well over N48billion annually.  One of the main focus and thrust of the game is to reduce the colossal number of deaths by Malaria and also the cost of loss of productivity which is about 11.7% annually”.

The Malaria Destroyer Game (MDG) therefore represents perhaps the most strategic and innovative way to positively fight and eradicate the Malaria pandemic.

“With this type of solution, we can stop the deaths of African Youths and sustain economic growth by ensuring the good health for our workforce, he noted.

The MDG Solution is designed to reach about 70 million people in Nigeria, 150 million in West Africa and 500 million in Africa.

The Malaria Destroyer Game (MDG) is a Trade Mark and aims to bring more to intuition the awareness on how to fight/eradicate mosquitoes from our environment thereby preventing malaria.
