Chief Osita Chidoka, minister of Aviation, has been conferred with the prestigious National Productivity Order of Merit (NPOM) award by President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.
The President who was represented by the Vice President, Arc Namadi Sambo, said recipients are being recognised for their productivity and commitment towards nation building. He charged them to continue to give their best for the growth and development of the country.
The event which was chaired by the Minister of Labour, chief Emeka Nwogu, also witnessed the conferment of the award to other notable Nigerians who have made significant contributions to the development of the country, in their various fields of endeavour.
Chidoka is being recognized, with this award, because of the significant improvement he brought to the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) where he served as the corp Marshal. His unique management style, creativity and determination has earned the commission enconiums at home and abroad.
This is aside from his transparent commitment to the implementation of Government’s Transformation Agenda in Road safety, including infrastructural development, manpower training and development.
The CEOs of aviation parastatals who came to felicitate with their new helmsman expressed pride for this enviable achievement.
According to them, "we are confident that your sterling qualities at the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) which earned you this award will be brought to bear in the aviation industry"
They pledged their unalloyed commitment and support towards ensuring that these successes are replicated in the aviation industry.
The occasion was attended by the newly posted Permanent Secretary Mr Yemi Adelakun, Directors from the ministry and CEOs of the aviation agencies.
