There is palpable excitement in the air within the telecom and ICT ecosystem as President Mohammadu Buhari, Engr. Babachir Lawal, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, State Governors and Ministers of ICT from other African countries are gather at Transcorp Hilton Hotel Congress Hall in Abuja on Tuesday for the opening ceremony of the 14th edition of Innovation Africa Digital (IAD) Summit 2016. 

Registration for the summit commenced last month and delegates from over 40 countries across the globe have registered at “the invitation only” summit that would be held from 19th – 21st April 2016 at The Congress Hall of Transcorp Hilton Hotel Abuja.

The IAD Summit 2016 will deliver an innovative conference programme combining keynote presentations, panel discussions, workshops, advisory clinics, private business meetings and high-level networking opportunities allowing attendees to tailor their experience to reflect their most pressing demands and objectives.

Registered ‘Invitation only’ attendees will include CXOs from telecoms service providers, Heads of Regulatory Authorities, Ministers of ICT and High-Throughput Users from across Africa together with a select number of solution providers, vendors, consultants and investors who can support key business requirements.

IAD Summit 2016 with the theme, 'Harnessing Africa's Digital Growth' will assess how ICT can support national and regional development objectives, engagement strategies, operational efficiencies and QoS improvements in Nigeria and across Africa.

For example, the Day 1 at the summit according to the conference programme after the opening ceremony has a section tagged “Africa Engaged” featuring Three Keynote Presentations by Security Xura – Securing the Value of Mobile for All; FMCG: Embracing Digitalisation – President, Advertisers Association of Nigeria and Connected Workforce – Vice-President Distribution, Airtel Nigeria; the panel discussion is on Stakeholders Engagement Strategies with panelists from AIESEC in Benin; Re-Boot Nigeria and Access Bank Plc. There will also be Keynote Presentations on Monetising, Securing and Managing Data by Oracle, Internet Solutions, ZTE, MTN and Galaxy Backbone Ltd. The Gala dinner is sponosored by Backbone Connectivity Networks – Nigeria.
