Sidmach Wins Big at 2017 Beacon of ICT Awards

Sidmach Technology scooped two awards at this year’s Beacon of ICT Distinguished Lecture/Awards Series, organized by Communications Week Media Ltd., publishers of Nigeria CommunicationsWeek.

The event held Eko Hotel and Suites, Lagos recently was designed to explore efforts to put Nigeria on the global information and communication technologies map, while the award ceremony rewards best practices and recognize outstanding contributions to the growth of the sector.

Sidmach Technologies was presented with two awards this year, the Indigenous Software Company of the Year and Technology Innovation Hub of the Year.

In addition to these two awards the MD of Sidmach Technologies Mr. Peter Arogundade wins the award of the ICT Man of the year. For Sidmach Technologies it is a great honor to win these awards while the onus is also on the Company to do more.

While delivering his speech on the theme of the event “Empowering Youth Through Digital Citizenship”.

Mr. Peter Arogundade said “The youth have a huge potential to define and shape diverse identities through digital technologies, underscoring the importance of youth empowerment by ICT”.

He further opined that governments, schools and industries have a joint task to ensure that the ‘Internet of Things’ (IoT) is a place of opportunities for everyone to: Access knowledge; Communicate and collaborate; Develop skills; and Improve job perspectives and employability.

Also speaking on the 2017 distinguished lecture, Mr. Ken Nwogbo, Editor in-chief/CEO, Communications Week Media, said that the event is aimed at charting the way forward for the country’s ICT sector. The event was dignified by titans in the Nigerian ICT space.
