Ohuabunwa, Oyebode Headline Potter's House Wealth Creation Seminar

To meet the yearnings of professionals, business owners and craftsmen seeking self-determination and financial freedom, the Noble Men of The Potter’s House of Lagos have announced its inaugural business seminar on wealth creation.

Theme of the seminar which takes place on 29 July 2017 is "Creating wealth in the 21st century". 

Confirmed speakers for the seminar designed to help men achieve financial independence are Mazi Sam Ohuabunwa and Mr. Akin Oyebode. Mazi Ohuabunwa is the Founding President, Neimeth International Pharmaceuticals Plc, while Mr.Oyebode is the Executive Secretary, Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF).

More than just a theoretical exercise, the seminar will feature role play and/or breakout sessions aimed at helping participants thrive in their professional lives and as entrepreneurs.

The facilitators will speak to creating gainful employment for self and others, identifying economic and financial opportunities and how take advantage of them, as well as the dynamics of translating ideas to wealth by creating businesses and doing it the right way. They will also share strategies for growth and profitability for existing businesses. 

Speaking on the seminar, Resident Pastor of The Potter's House of Lagos, Pastor Abeke Orhonor, said the church is living up to its purpose of enriching lives, shaping destinies and raising men of substance that will create a future of shared prosperity for Nigeria and Nigerians.

Mazi Ohuabunwa is a graduate of Pharmacy from the University of Ife, now Obafemi Awolowo University. He embarked on a Postgraduate training in Business and Organizational Management at the Columbia University, U.S.A. and the Lagos Business School. He joined Pfizer Products Plc as a Pharmaceutical Sales Representative and rose to become the Chairman/CEO in 1993.

He led the management buy-over of Pfizer Inc shares in Pfizer Products Plc in 1997, transforming the emergent company - Neimeth International Pharmaceuticals Plc into a medium-sized Nigerian research and development driven pharmaceutical company.

He voluntarily retired from the company after 33 years of service, 18 years of which were at CEO level. He is currently the National President of the Nigerian American Chamber of Commerce (NACC).

He founded the Sam Ohuabunwa Foundation for Economic Empowerment (SOFEE) in 2009 with the aim of creating awareness and understanding of economic and financial opportunities in Nigeria. He is the Managing Consultant of Starteam Consult and currently serves on the board of several public and private organisations.

Mr. Oyebode, an economist by training, is the pioneer Executive Secretary of LSETF. A former banker, strategist and social commentator, he was Head of SME banking at Stanbic IBTC bank, prior to his appointment as Executive Secretary of the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund.

LSETF was established by the Lagos State Government in 2016 to provide financial support to residents of Lagos State, for job, wealth creation and to tackle unemployment.

The organisation seeks to inspire and harness the creative energies of all Lagos residents to reduce unemployment across the State.

It has the mandate to directly invest ₦25Billion in helping Lagos residents grow and scale their Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) or acquire skills to get better jobs.
