In a bold move to deepen financial inclusion and modernize Nigeria’s payment ecosystem, FirstBank has launched its cutting-edge FirstMonie Merchant Solution, a platform designed to empower businesses across the country with seamless digital payment capabilities.

The launch event, held in Lagos, drew attention from key players in the financial and tech sectors, highlighting FirstBank’s commitment to innovation and its role as a pioneer in West African banking.

The FirstMonie Merchant Solution offers a suite of features tailored to meet the evolving needs of Nigerian enterprises. From instant settlement and automated onboarding to customizable payment options like Pay with Transfer and Purchase, the platform is engineered for speed, transparency, and control.

Merchants will benefit from pre-configured POS terminals, real-time network dashboards, and dispute resolution tools—all designed to reduce chargebacks and improve operational efficiency.

Chuma Ezirim, Group Executive of E-Business and Retail Products at FirstBank, described the launch as a transformative moment: “This is not merely a product introduction; we are simplifying payment processes and providing merchants with improved transparency, control, and speed for daily transactions.”

He emphasized that the solution is part of FirstBank’s broader mission to build financial ecosystems that deliver value and trust to stakeholders nationwide.

Both new and existing FirstBank customers can register for the solution via a streamlined online portal at www.firstbanknigeria.com/getyourpos, making it accessible to businesses in urban centers and remote communities alike.

Unlike many fintech alternatives, FirstBank’s platform guarantees the safety of merchant funds, backed by the institution’s 131-year legacy and a vast network of over 300,000 FirstMonie agents.

As Nigeria continues its push toward a cashless economy, FirstBank’s FirstMonie Merchant Solution stands poised to redefine how businesses transact, offering a secure, scalable, and inclusive digital payment infrastructure. With this launch, FirstBank reaffirms its role as a trailblazer in African banking—where tradition meets technology, and innovation drives inclusion.
