Swift Networks Limited, Nigeria’s leading broadband network is building the country’s first, fastest and most dense 4G Wimax network in Lagos.
What this means, is that Swift Network will be able to provide customers with a more robust and reliable service with plug and play features.
The company will also be able to make better use of its spectrum resources to get the RAN and Core networks ready to deliver higher throughput to customers when the expected additional international backbone cables arrive Nigeria.
To this end, Charles Anudu, managing director of the company said that “we stopped active customer acquisition to forestall congestion on our current network”
The broadband company also said that it has upgraded its customer service centre in Victoria Island and created a new one in Ikeja to bring services closer to customers.
“We have installed a more convenient payment system (PAYDIRECT) that enables you to pay your bills online (24 X 7) via our website, using any Nigerian bank issued Debit Card, or at any of the 21 participating banks (no longer 3 banks only) through which we can now receive payments. Payments made either online on through these banks will update your payment records instantly and in an unfortunate case of service suspension, restore services automatically without any human intervention.” Anudu added.
He said that “all our consultants for this project are settled in and working with our team to deliver it at cost and on schedule. All equipment and services have been ordered and some have started to arrive Nigeria. Installations have started already, at some locations.”
According to him, Swift Networks will migrate its existing customers you (by swapping their current modems) to the new network in batches to avoid service deterioration from June and expect every customer to have been migrated by the end of December 2010.
Swift Network is quadrupling its current network capacity in this first phase of upgrade and expect to continue to add sufficient capacity headroom as necessary to ensure sustainable high-speed broadband services to customers.
