The operator of the National Directory Services has unveiled a unique portable telephone box capable of connecting callers to emergency ambulance dispatch, addresses of police posts across the country and many more in cases of panic.
The telephone boxes as unveiled by Ms Denise Cann, company’s chief operating officer – International Bureau, is a multi-dimensional table phone that can be used by hotels, relaxation spots and each home across Nigeria.
It is designed to make Nigeria a safer place actually. Most especially Lagos state being highly populated and prone to disasters like ocean surge and collapsed buildings.
The telephone boxes are programmed to connect into the Data Centre 24 hours daily without much stress.
With a single hot button, the boxes dials into 7411 directory centre, and emergency or first aid procedures are automatically played or read out for the caller over the phone.
Gone are the days when emergency procedures are a mirage. Today, with one dial, callers can have access to basic health and first aid tips to perform in emergency cases before rushing patient or victims to the hospitals.
Cann advised Nigerians to dial 7411 and request for basic life saving tips, and not wait until the real emergency happens.
She reiterated that the 7411 National Directory was set up to bridge the information gaps that exist in Nigeria.
