Hellofood Bags Best E-Commerce Startup 2014 Award
Hellofood, Africa’s leading online food delivery marketplace, has been selected as the best ecommerce startup at the 2014 European Tech Startup Awards “The Europas”, which took place yesterday in London.
Having successfully expanded its service to over 40 countries since launching less than two years ago, the startup has proven to be one of the most exceptional startups worldwide.
On Wednesday, the company was honoured with a vote of confidence by a panel of expert judges and public vote.
Besides its successful expansion, Hellofood and its affiliated partner foodpanda has reached another milestone by partnering with over 25,000 restaurants worldwide.
Founded in 2009, The Europas are the premier awards for Europe’s best startups.

In the presence of over 800 of Europe’s top tech entrepreneurs and experts in London, foodpanda/hellofood received the prestigious award “for its huge global expansion in the last year.”
The company was first elected from the shortlist by a public peer vote, before finally being named Europe’s “Best E-Commerce Startup 2014” by a panel of 40 internationally acclaimed judges.

The online marketplace helps restaurants to increase delivery sales through online and mobile platforms and provides them with constantly evolving technology and analytics.
Customers can choose their favorite meal online and hellofood processes the order directly to the restaurant, which delivers the meal to the customer.
Hellofood and its affiliated partner foodpanda has partnered with over 25.000 restaurants worldwide.
Founded by Africa Internet Holding (AIH) with investment from telecommunications company MTN, Hellofood is Africa’s leading online and mobile platform where customers can order food from the most popular restaurants in their city.
Since its launch in November 2012, Hellofood has already expanded to 11 countries across Africa, attracting hundreds of independent restaurants and international chains as partners.

Hisense electronics unveiled a flagship showroom in Abuja over the weekend. Speaking at the event, Mr. Mustapha Khries, the Abuja Branch Manager of the Fouani Group, highlighted the significance of the flagship store, describing it as the first of its kind in the entire West African region.
He also addressed the challenges facing businesses in Nigeria, particularly the high exchange rates and transportation costs.
