The Alliance for Affordable Internet (A4AI), world’s broadest technology sector coalition, has indicated plans to partner with Paradigm Initiative (Nigeria) on "Day 0" of the Internet Freedom Festival 2017 (#IFF2017).
A4AI brings together prominent players from government, the private sector, and civil society to work to reduce the cost of a broadband connection and enable billions more to come online.
The A4AI-Nigeria coalition advocates for policy and regulatory reform in four priority areas: infrastructure sharing and open access, spectrum, consumer awareness and pricing transparency, and taxation and financing.
In an email to Nigeria CommunicationsWeek, the organisers said they were pleased to hold the next A4AI-Nigeria coalition meeting on "Day 0" of the Internet Freedom Festival 2017 (#IFF2017), an annual event hosted by Paradigm Initiative focused on trends and key issues for digital rights in Africa.
At the meeting, A4AI-Nigeria coordinators and working group champions will review their progress on the 2017 work plans so far and highlight opportunities for coalition members to contribute to the outputs.
The meeting, A4AI said is open to all stakeholders committed to promoting policy and regulatory reform to make affordable internet possible in Nigeria.
