African Capital Alliance (ACA), a premier private equity firm in Africa has launched the ACA Foundation with a nation-building workshop.

From inception, ACA has been committed to nation-building via varied platforms and partnerships with different organisations in the public, private and non-profit sectors. 

According to Okey Enelamah, CEO of ACA, “the ACA Foundation has been established to further deepen and widen ACA’s positive impact on the Nigerian economy and, subsequently, Africa’s, as ACA itself originated from the nation-building work of the founding partners, Chief Ernest Shonekan, Pascal Dozie, Dick Kramer and Mohammed Hayatu-Deen.”

The launch event is a culmination of work that has been done over the past eighteen months, since the idea for the Foundation was conceived in September 2012.

The event feature a special presentation by Professor Catherine Duggan from the Business, Government and International Economy (BGIE) unit at Harvard Business School, whose specialty research focuses on sub-Saharan Africa.

The event will also bring together Mr. Bode Agusto of Agusto & Co., Mr. Doyin Salami of the Lagos Business School and Mr. Frank Aigbogun of BusinessDay, who facilitated a breakout group discussions on how Nigeria can achieve its full potential and what the ACA Foundation can contribute to this process.

ACA Foundation grantees and implementing partners which include the Harvard Business School Alumni Association of Nigeria (HABSAN), Pan-Atlantic University, the National Economic Summit Group (NESG), Apostles in the Market Place (AiMP), Junior Achievement of Nigeria (JAN), African Leadership Academy (ALA) and the Lagos Business School (LBS) Centre for Research in Leadership and Ethics (CRLE) will also be in attendance and will participate in the breakout group discussions with ACA partners and staff.
