African Voice at AIT’s Kakaaki

Like its name, Kaakaki, a 3-hour news based current affairs programme on African Independent Television (AIT), heralds great events and issues blowing them loud to Africa and rest of the world.

Kakaaki is transmitted from 6-9am, Mondays through Fridays and is produced by Shola Ayebola,

It presents facts about Africa and Africans while reflecting world issues as they concern and impact on the African continent.

A Hausa word for Trumpet, Kaakaki and has a presence not only in Africa but also in Europe and America, thanks to the Internet.

As a flagship programme of AIT, Kakaaki is well packaged and the depth of its features has often left viewers thrilled.

The programme consists of segments: general news, business, entertainment, sports, exclusive interviews, special features, which are ‘must-watch’ for everyone.

It has served as a channel through which the image of Africa is sold to the rest of the world. Tourist attractions, cultures and traditions of multi-ethnic Africa are well showcased on the programme for the pleasure and benefit of viewers.

People in other continents of the world have been able to get acquainted with Africa only by watching the programme and the manner in which it is delivered would no doubt, gives them that eerie feeling of being present here.

It is also a favourite among the politically conscious in the country, the continent, as well as those in the Diaspora who might still be interested in the political intrigues in the homeland.

Kakaaki has featured a wide array of high profile individuals in the society which includes politicians, industrialists, professionals in various fields of endeavour, successful entertainers; who are invited on the show to share their experience and also participate in discussions that are instrumental in moving the society forward.
