AIESEC Alumni Nigeria Holds 31st Omolayole Management Series

AIESEC Alumni Nigeria said preparations are on top gears towards the Omolayole Management Lecture series which has been in existence for over 30 years.

The Lecture is held in honor of Dr. Michael Omolayole, a pioneer president of Chartered institute of Personnel Management Nigeria (CIPM) 1968-1970, former Chairman/ Managing Director, Lever Brothers Nigeria Plc now Unilever Nigeria Plc, former Presidential Advisory Committee member and Chairman/Director (past and present) of numerous multinational companies to address contemporary socio-economic issues of national and international concern.

This year, he is being hosted by the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM) where he served as past president on 2nd October 2015.

This year's theme is "Development Strategies for Job Creation and Economic Growth". The chairman /host of this event is Dr. Nelson U. O. Uwaga; president of the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM).

The Chief speaker is Mrs. Ibukun Awosika, CEO of the Chair Center now known as Sokoa Chair Centre Ltd; Chairman, First Bank of Nigeria Capital.

The theme is specifically aimed at developing youths and the country's economy. In our nation today, there has been little progress made in this regard, and this year’s lecture seeks to showcase some solutions to the problem and ideas that can be looked into.

In honor of this theme, there would be a pre-lecture competition which would serve as a platform for budding entrepreneurs to showcase their ideas and win great prizes.

The Pre-Lecture Interactive Session segment of the event which is now in its third year, allows participants drawn from budding entrepreneurs, students in secondary and tertiary institutions, to meet and glean relevant information from a diverse group of experts connected with the theme of the lecture.

The panelists for the competition are Adetunji Adegbesan, Bunmi Otegbade and Adekunbi Adeoye who are themselves social entrepreneurs.

This year’s edition will commence by 11am on the same day and venue of the main lecture with a workshop.

The session will also feature finalists from the Big Idea Challenge which aims to promote business ideas and strategies among young entrepreneurs.
