Airtel Nigeria, leading telecommunications services provider, has been honoured with a Merit Award by the Association of Telecoms Companies of Nigeria (ATCON), as the body marked its 21st anniversary with a colourful event in Lagos, recently.

ATCON while presenting the award noted that Airtel’s pioneering investment in Nigeria’s mobile telecommunications industry earned it the Merit Award.

Aminu Tambuwal, Sokoto State Governor and former Speaker of the House of Representatives, presented the award to Mr. Segun Ogunsanya, managing director and chief executive officer, Airtel Nigeria, who was represented by Emeka Oparah, the company’s director of Corporate Communications & CSR.

Other top government functionaries, personalities in the telecommunications industry and distinguished Nigerians also graced the occasion.
