It was a season of rewards for channel partners of Airtel Nigeria as the leading telecom operator celebrated its business partners at the 2013 channel Partners’ Champions Gala night in Lagos yesterday.

Mr. Segun Ogunsanya, MD/CEO of Airtel Nigeria said the Channel Partners Awards celebrates the efforts of trade partners in advancing the business objectives of the company just as it also encourages more mutually productive collaboration.

"Collectively, we dealt with several issues including the insecurity in the North, flood and other issues that impacted our operations adversely. He said

"I want to commend you all for the brave fight despite the enormous challenges.  I dare say our channel partners rose to the occasion and went the extra mile to support all our initiatives," Ogunsanya added.

He added that as business, Airtel values its relationship with the business partners just as it strongly believes in the culture of recognising, celebrating and rewarding excellence and exceptional performances.

Ogunsanya added that Airtel will continue to invest in the expansion of its network and the enhancement of quality of service.

"Today, we have the largest 3.75G coverage that spans the entire 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory to our customers.  We will continue to deepen our 3.75G coverage and the network quality so that we can maintain this flagship position," he added.

Speaking further, the MD said that Airtel as a player in the Nigeria's telecom sector is happy with the opportunities that mobile number portability has presented and encouraged the partners to join it in  leveraging the platform.
