AITEC Shocked by Sanusi’s Suspension, Postpones BMM Conference
AITEC Africa has postponed it banking and mobile money conference earlier scheduled for March 12 and 13, citing the suspension of Malam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, governor, Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) as a major setback.
In an email to our correspondent and on behalf of AITEC Team, Nick Fairbairn, said that AITEC regrets the inconveniencies the decision would have caused the enthusiastic prospect participants.
Fairbarian said, “For a number of reasons, including the recent dismissal of the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, we have decided to postpone AITEC Banking & Mobile Money Lagos until the 15-16 of July.
“The Central Bank is an important partner for the conference and its current state of transition makes it impossible for it to provide its usual level of input for the event.
“We regret any inconvenience this change may cause you. We have set the new dates for Lagos in the week following our AITEC Banking & Mobile Money Accra on the 9-10 of July, which will enable international participants to cover both events with one trip to the region”.
