Oba Adedotun Gbadebo, paramount Ruler of Egbaland, has described Globacom as an indigenous company that is truly international in the  provision of cutting-edge services and products that are comparable to what is available in advanced countries of the world.

The Ruler said this while addressing a press conference on Monday at the Ake Palace, Abeokuta, to announce the activities marking the celebration of this year’s Lisabi Festival in Abeokuta.

The monarch attributed the giant strides recorded by Globacom in the eleven years of its operation to the dynamism, commitment, exposure and business acumen of the company’s Chairman, Dr. Mike Adenuga Jr. adding that they were both old boys of Ibadan Grammar School that produced personalities committed to attaining the peak in all endeavours.

He congratulated Globacom for sponsoring the Festival again this year and declared that the telecommunication company would always be the preferred telecommunication partner of Egba sons and daughters at home and in the diaspora.

Oba Gbadebo described the Lisabi Festival which celebrates the heroism of Lisabi as an ample opportunity to revive the good part of Egba culture without worshipping idols, adding that Egbaland was great in the past and will be great again.

Speaking earlier, Mr. Yomi Ogunbamowo, Globacom’s head, Business Support said the company would partner with the festival organizing committee to make this year’s edition of the festival very colourful and fascinating.

He said Globacom had empowered millions of Nigerians directly and indirectly through its various programmes and enjoined all Egba indigenes to participate in the on-going Glo Overload Promo in order to stand a chance to become millionaires as the company will still make many more Nigerians millionaires in the promo.

He described the theme of this year’s Lisabi Festival Collective Responsibility: A panacea to the socio-economic development of Egbaland as apt, adding that nothing can be achieved without unity.

The 2015 Lisabi Festival will begin on Monday 9th March, 2015 with Booming of guns while Quiz, Ayo and Football Competitions would be held during the week-long program which would be rounded off with the grand finale and prize presentation ceremony on Saturday 14th March, 2015.
