The newly elected president of the Association of Mobile Money and Banking Agents in Nigeria (AMMBAN) Fasasi Sarafadeen Atanda, has pledge the associations commitment to support the government of president Ahmed Tinubu’s initiatives especially in the payment industry.
He made the call while addressing a press conference held at the Lagos corporate headquarters during his inauguration, the associations objectives and the challenges.
The financial services Agents in Nigeria includes the Banking Agents, POS Agents, NIN Agents, BVN Agents, Agric Extension Agents, Micro insurance Agents and Micro pension Agents. The president used the platform which was well attended by major stakeholders from various states and locations to appreciate the outgoing executives for laying a good foundation for his team to trod on.
Mr. Atanda borrowed the words of Tinubu, “don’t pity our situation” we have no excuse not to deliver and to take AMMBAN to greater heights.
However, he equally stated that one of the major objectives of AMMBAN is to grow the payment industry and promote sanity in the system.
To actualize this vision, he vowed to collaborate with the security Agencies, The CBN, service providers, create 500.000 jobs in Nigeria in the first quarter of the year 2024, flag off a task force, to launch a police VGS intelligence and to launch a support Desk.
