The Global African Investment Summit (TGAIS) and corporate data-provider, Asoko Insight (Asoko) on Thursday announced the establishment of a strategic partnership.

Under the arrangement, Asoko will act as knowledge partner to TGAIS, providing critical information on Africa’s most dynamic companies to TGAIS’ online community and its various international conferences.

In addition to its prestigious annual summit in London and, since recently, Rwanda, TGAIS will launch its online community this month.

Registered members will have access to a wide array of networking and information services including access to Asoko’s proprietary corporate database.

The data company will also provide key input in TGAIS’ monthly ‘Top Company Spotlight’ informing global investors on the most promising investment opportunities on the continent.

Commenting on the partnership, Rob Withagen, co-founder & CEO of Asoko, said: “Asoko and TGAIS overlap in our shared purpose to inform and activate the global investment community on Africa’s most promising opportunities. This partnership offers yet another means for Asoko to shorten the bridge between dynamic African companies and worldwide investors”

Paul Sinclair, dmg : events Director of Africa added thus, “This partnership supports our aim to provide our global investor community with year-round access to African investment opportunities. While our annual TGAIS summits provide an ideal face-to-face investment and networking platform, our network of investors are seeking access to bankable projects and investment stories year-round.”

The Global African Investment Summit is the largest investment platform specifically designed to deploy international investment into Africa.

Established in October 2014, the summit has rapidly developed into a market-leading investment platform, providing a unique meeting place for global investors and public and private sector African project owners and influencers.

TGAIS takes place annually in London, attracting 1,500 investors and influencers, and September 2016 sees the launch of the first TGAIS on the African continent.

Asoko Insight (Asoko), a UK-registered information services provider, is building Africa’s largest online repository of privately-held company information.

Its objective is to facilitate instant access to reliable information on Africa’s privately-held companies, at scale.

With support of research teams based in Accra, Lagos and Nairobi, the company has captured in-depth profiles on close to 4,000 mid to large cap corporates thus far and is rapidly adding to that number.

Among its clients-base, it counts investors, corporates and governments worldwide who are looking for business partners and investment opportunities.
