The ATM Security Association for Enhanced Technology and the ATM Industry Association have signed a memorandum of understanding for a closer relationship between the organizations.

The new cooperation agreement will foster joint coordination of security related activities for the worldwide ATM industry, according to a press release. The agreement aims to formalize mutual interaction and reinforces the organizations’ existing relationship at the working and strategic level.

One important goal of the business collaboration is to develop a roadmap for detailed security threats analysis as a basis for future crime prevention in the ATM industry, the release said.

Joining resources, intellectual property, databases, information and research will make this possible even more in the future.

Currently, the organizations are negotiating framework conditions to align activities of the ATM Security Association working groups with the work of ATMIA subcommittees and functions. Additional discussions will address added value for members of both organizations.

The ATM Security Association will announce further plans at the 18th ATMIA annual security conference to be held next month in London.
