African ICT Professionals Conference, a brain child of Association of Telecommunications Professionals of Nigeria (ATPN), will hold on June 27 in Abuja
The conference which has the theme: “Building a Professional Legacy from Strength to Strength”, will bring together top African ICT Experts, Government Officials, Practitioners, Stakeholders and Captains of Industries and Student Representatives.
Godwin Morgan, acting, national secretary of the Association, told Nigeria CommunicationsWeek that the overall objective of the conference is to strengthen the synergy between African ICT Professionals and their counterparts in other developing countries towards the advancement of professionalism in African ICT Industry.
Morgan added that the gathering is also to give honours and recognitions to ICT Stakeholders, veterans and professionals who have made significant contributions to the ICT Industry and to raise public awareness of the importance of ICT professionals across African continent.
“His Excellency, Arc. Namadi Sambo, GCON, Vice President, Federal Republic of Nigeria, as a Special Guest of Honour; minister of Communications Technology, Mrs. Omoboji Johnson will declare the conference open; while Prof. Feyi-Sobanjo Taiwo, National President Technology Law Society of Nigeria will Chair the occasion,” he said.
Speakers at this professional epoch making event will include, Engr. (Hon.) Ibrahim Shehu PhD, chairman, House of Representatives Committee on ICT and Dr. Isaisa Barreto deRosa, commissioner of ICT, ECOWAS Commission, among others.
