BICSI, the association advancing the information and communications technology (ICT) community, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with FTTH Council Africa.

The purpose of this MOU is to promote collaboration and information-sharing between FTTH Council Africa and BICSI, which will foster the growth and advancement of the ICT community globally.

This MOU demonstrates the commitment at both the FTTH Council Africa and BICSI to further these goals through collaboration and information-sharing on events, education, marketing, and standards development.

In addition, the BICSI Middle East & Africa (MEA) District is pleased to announce that due to the collaboration agreement, the BICSI MEA Southern Africa event on October 5, 2017, will be held in conjunction with the annual FTTH Council Africa conference.

“We are thrilled to announce that we have teamed up with BICSI for their event,” said Juanita Clark, CEO of the FTTH Council Africa. “There is a lot of synergy between ourselves and BICSI and our collaboration is guided by our shared vision. The answers to many of our problems lie with innovation. Finding efficient ways to unleash the potential of Africa is critical.”

BICSI MEA District will host a full one-day event on Thursday, October 5, 2017 in the BICSI Hall. The joint conference will take place on October 3-5, 2017, at the Cape Town International Convention Centre in Cape Town, South Africa.

“This collaboration agreement with FTTH Council Africa is promising for BICSI and we are looking forward to partnering with them on many future activities,” said BICSI President Brian Ensign, RCDD, NTS, OSP, RTPM, CSI.

“The event in South Africa is the first of many such endeavors and we are really looking forward to bringing another fantastic global event to the BICSI membership. The collaboration with FTTH Council Africa adds to the superb technical content to be presented at this South Africa conference.”
