Computer and Allied Products Dealers Association (CAPDAN ) has embraced the Hygeia Community Health Plan (HCHP ) which offers healthcare coverage to selected communities in Lagos and Kwara states.
The general secretary of CAPDAN, Mr. John Oboro, who disclosed this to Nigeria Communications Week,said the HCHP,covers hospital admissions, consultations with specialists, medical treatment including drugs, maternity care including antenatal deliveries, child care including immunizations and care for newborn babies, eye examinations including removal of cataracts and yearly medical check-ups including HIV counseling and testing.
Mr. Oboro, said each member of the association joined the HCHP with the sum of #1,300, which covers their healthcare for one year
“By making that payment, you get medical care throughout the year. When you pay, you choose one hospital and get an HCHP I .D. card, whenever you need medical care you can go to your chosen hospital, show your card and get treatment,” he said.
The CAPDAN executive, also disclosed that the HCHP works with the National Health Insurance Scheme ( NHIS ), which pays for most of the healthcare costs.
He mentioned some of the hospitals involved in the HCHP to include, Surulere General Hospital, Agege General Hospital, Orile Agege, Aniyun Hospital, Ifako, Gbagada, May Clinic, Ilasamaja, Topaz clinic, Surulere,Crystal Hospital,Akowonjo,Lagoon clinic,Victoria Island, Lagoon Hospital, Ikeja and Lagos state university Teaching Hospital ( Referral center ).
