Caritas Communications Limited, Africa’s leading reputation management consultancy has announced the appointment of two new management directors as part of the company’s effort to assure improved efficiency and delivery of world class services to clients.

Okwudili Onyia has been appointed Director of Strategic Communication while Israel Bolaji is the account director, Brand Communication and Channel Management.

Commenting on the development, Adedayo Ojo, chief executive officer, said the new appointment is a demonstration of the company’s renewed commitment to strengthen her professional team and assure the delivery of sustained world class solutions to the esteemed clients.

According to Adedayo, “We are excited to announce the appointment of these two young, energetic and experienced professionals. This is part of our strategy to build a team of competent professionals which will drive our vision of sustained delivery of excellent services to our clients”.

Onyia, in the new role, will oversee communication strategy within the group, drive business growth as well as lead the human capacity development unit, The Reputation Solutions Faculty. He has over ten years’ experience spanning media relations, strategy, and crisis management, among others.

Before his appointment, he served as Deputy Manager, Head of Media and Account Director at Caritas. He began his Public Relations career at C&F Porter Novelli, where he gained professional experience working on a number of renowned brands such as MTN, Pfizer, Stanbic IBTC, etc.

Onyia later had a stint at Customer Centricity Limited, a full service business communications and human performance improvement organisation, where he worked as brand and communications executive and later Assistant Manager. At Customer Centricity, he was part of the team that managed a number of brand management and human capacity development projects for brands such as Microsoft, First Bank, FinBank among others.

He has a B.A in English from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka and is a member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR). Onyia has also attended a number of training programmes within Nigeria and overseas including LBS and internship at Regester Larkin by Deloitte, London, United Kingdom.

Bolaji, an experienced senior marketing communications professional, brings depth and a wealth of experience in the areas of communications strategies, corporate communications, media management, events and clients service.

He will drive marketing communication strategies for client and oversee the media division.

Prior to joining Caritas, he was head of Public Relations at StarTimes Pay TV Nigeria, leading communications management pan Nigeria for Africa’s fastest growing Pay TV.

He was also head of Clients Services at JSP Communications Lagos, where he coordinated several high-profiled communications campaigns for blue chip companies such as Apple Core Group Africa, Intel Corp, PZ Cussons, GSK, Nestle, GTBank, Cotecna, Chevron, Coca-Cola, Microsoft, Nokia, Thomson Reuters, Fedex RedStar, Emirates Airline, Africa - re and others.

Bolaji holds an MBA in Marketing, a Master’s degree in English, and membership of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) and other professional bodies.
