You can help shape Nigeria’s technology future. Take part in the IBM Lasgidi Hackathon on October 21-24, 2013, and move Nigeria’s digital revolution forward.
The IBM Lasgidi Hackathon in collaboration with Co-Creation Hub, Yaba is targeted at students to develop applications for mobile payments and smarter government.
Tunji Eleso, director, Business Advisory, CcHub, told Nigeria CommunicationsWeek that the event is christened, “Mobile Payments and Smarter Government”.
“This is your chance to take part in the exciting technology advances happening in Nigeria. You are invited to test your skills in a four-day IBM “hacking” event designed to get the smartest minds from Nigerian universities and business working to innovate around the event theme,” he said.
The first two days of the event will be spent on education, after which participants will have the opportunity to continue to the Hackathon phase.
During these 4 days at CcHUB, participants will apply their technology skills and imagination to turn ideas into solutions. “As space is limited, participants should have a sufficient level of technology understanding to take part in the Hackathon,” the organizers said.
During the event, university undergraduates, recent graduates, and developers will have access to leading IBM development platforms for mobile, cloud, and data, and participants will take home complimentary IBM-themed give-aways.
“You will also have the opportunity to meet with IBM Human Resources personnel to discuss your career goals,” Cc-Hub promised.
