CcHub Set To Open Mobile Experience Lab

Co-creation Hub (Cc-Hub), Nigeria’s first open living lab and pre-incubation space, has announced its readiness to formerly open a Mobile Experience Lab (MX Lab) on a new floor in the Hub, Nigeria CommunicationsWeek can report.

CcHub is designed to be a multi-functional, multi-purpose space where work to catalyze creative social tech ventures take place.

The Hub is a place for technologists, social entrepreneurs, government, tech companies, impact investors and hackers in and around Lagos to co-create new solutions to the many social problems in Nigeria.

The event holds on Tuesday, 21st January 2014 at noon at the Hub located in Yaba, Lagos.

Confirming the cheering news to Nigeria CommunicationsWeek, Mr. Femi Longe, director of Programmes at the Hub, said that, “Over the past two (2) years, CcHUB (www.cchubnigeria.com) has worked with aspiring tech entrepreneurs who are finding interesting ways to address social issues in Nigeria in areas such as governance, education, trade, water, extractives and entertainment.

It has become clear that once these tools are created, the next critical step towards scalability is to connect with end users (especially in an environment where the vast majority is still not ‘technology savvy’).

“We created the Mobile Experience Lab from the necessity to bridge the gap between users and digital service providers in Nigeria. The aim of MX Lab is to enhance the quality of local digital solutions; improve customer satisfaction; and accelerate smart application of technology in solving problems in Nigeria”.

Longe added that the Hub plans to achieve these through:

“Research: the lab will generate, process and disseminate extensive knowledge and data to aid better understanding of the end-users by our community members

“Usability Testing: the lab will provide pre-launch usability testing with real users to help developers avoid poor user experience which can inherently ruin a product

“Evangelism: the lab will commit considerable resources to consistent messaging on the place of usability and user experience in technology development. We will sensitise and enlighten the community on the subject matter and its place in technology product development.

The Hub acts as a cushy nest designed to accelerate the successful development of social tech ventures through an array of business support resources and services, developed and orchestrated by the hub management and offered both in the space and through our network of partners.

 In addition, the hub leads co-creation initiatives aimed at creating novel technologically driven solutions to the myriad social challenges facing the average Nigerian.
