The Raspberry Pi, one of the most groundbreaking pieces of electronics of the last 2 years is now at Co-Creation Hub (CcHUB) Mobile Experience Centre, Yaba, Lagos.

Confirming the development to Nigeria CommunicationsWeek, Femi Longe, director of Programmes at the Hub said that the single board computer is inexpensive yet comes packed with ethernet, USB, a high powered graphics engine, digital I/O ports and enough CPU power to accomplish a wide range of tech-based projects.

CcHub added that the Raspberry Pi is a credit-card sized computer that plugs into users TV and a keyboard. “It is a capable little computer which can be used in electronics projects, and for many of the things that your desktop PC does, like spreadsheets, word-processing and games. It also plays high-definition video.

“You can make use of a Raspberry Pi for different purposes such as a general purpose computer, a media centre, or as a useful tool to learn programming.  The Pi can be used to build more complex projects such as turning it into a security system, robotics brainbox, network storage, weather forecasts etc,” the Hub explained.

The Raspberry Pi opens the door to almost infinite possibilities.

CcHUB uses tools such as the Raspberry Pi (& LEGO mindstorms) to power initiatives such as CcHUB’s Bot-Club & Pi-Club whose objective is to introduce science and technology to young ones at a tender age.
