Channels TV CEO to Deliver Maiden UMCAA Lecture
The University of Lagos Mass Communication Alumni Association (UMCAA) has announced that John Momoh, chairman/CEO of Channels TV, will deliver the maiden edition of Distinguished Lecture Series (DLS) of the body.
Chief Lawson Omokhodion, President of UMCAA, announced that the 1st Distinguished Lecture Series (DLS) of the association holds 11.00am on Tuesday March 24, 2015 at the University of Lagos (UNILAG), Yaba, Lagos.
According to him, UMCAA has chosen the topic ‘The Mass Media: Setting The Nigerian Agenda’ to refocus the pivotal role of the fourth estate of the realm in nation building.
Omokhodion added that, “the DLS is an avenue that the UMCAA aspires to use to bring order to our industry, influence public opinion towards positive growth in Nigeria and draw attention of the public to the enviable credentials of the Unilag Mass Communication Department.”
The President of UMCAA said that Mr John Momoh, a distinguished alumnus of the Department of Mass Communication, UNILAG, has been chosen to deliver the maiden edition of the DLS based on his commendable strides in the Nigerian mass media industry.
Mr Momoh’s lecture will be complemented by a distinguished panel representing the media, government, civil society organisations and the youth.
“The audience at this lecture will consist of high calibre professionals, opinion leaders, academic community, the media, captains of industry, politicians and the rank and file. After the main lecture, a group of discussants will take a first look at the paper and thereafter, questions, comments will follow. A robust discussion is expected and it will be a great pride to UMCAA that one of its own is presenting the first lecture in the series”, according to Chief Omokhodion.
