Check Point Software Technologies Limited, an internet security company has announced the kick off of its operations in Nigeria.
With cybercrime on the rise worldwide, Nigerian customers are to benefit from increased protection and a powerful shield against all types of emerging IT and internet security threats.
Check Point is riding on the back of DataGroupIT to distribute its solutions in Nigeria, with product support to be delivered through local partners supported by Check Point’s service centre.
Shmuel Agi, regional director, Middle East and Africa at Check Point Software Technologies at a media briefing explained that the company’s intention is to take Nigeria’s IT security market to the next level.
“Our intention is to bring the Nigerian IT security market to the next level and to reinforce Check Point’s presence in West Africa. We will continue to actively recruit and train strategic partners and highly skilled personnel in order to deliver optimum customer service and to fulfill the increasing demand of sophisticated security solutions and IT infrastructure.”
Speaking on the partnership between Check Point and DataGroupIT, Nir Kunik, chief executive officer of DataGroupIT said the Nigerian market will benefit from Check Point’s official presence through DataGroupIT and its local partners.
He affirmed that DataGroupIT’s wealth of experience will fast track Check Point’s penetration of the Nigerian market.
“We are confident that our in-depth understanding and experience in the Nigerian IT and data markets will enable a fast market penetration of Check Point’s solutions and product.”
He added that the company has started developing strong channels with leading local partners with the hope that Check Point’s best in-class support combined with the experience of DataGroupIT will enable the company to rapidly earn a position as the number one security provider in Nigeria.
“We see tremendous business prospects in the Nigerian market, presenting a significant and untapped development potential for Check Point across our product lines. We look forward to further developing our customer base mainly across the finance, oil and gas, telco and the information communications and technology industry and government sectors,” Agi said.
