In a statement issued on Thursday in Lagos, CNF commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for selecting individuals of “proven competence and vast experience” to lead strategic institutions in the digital economy.

The Foundation described Mr. Olorunnimbe as a seasoned entrepreneur and administrator whose leadership is expected to enhance regulatory efficiency and drive innovation in the telecoms industry.

“Mr. Olorunnimbe’s appointment is a significant step toward realizing the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda in the communications sector,” the statement read.

CNF, which comprises veteran practitioners in ICT and telecoms media, urged the NCC Board to prioritize key areas including digital economy growth, universal access to communications services, and network security.

The Foundation also pledged its commitment to collaborate with the NCC and other stakeholders to promote sustainable development in the sector.

“We look forward to partnering with Mr. Olorunnimbe and the NCC Board to achieve our shared vision for Nigeria’s telecoms industry,” said CNF Chairman, Mr. Abimbola Tooki.

The Nigerian Communications Commission is the regulatory authority for the telecommunications industry in Nigeria, tasked with creating an enabling environment for competition among operators and ensuring the provision of quality services.
