Cross River State government and Institute of Software Practitioners of Nigeria (Ispon) have inked an memorandum of understanding (MOU) for the establishment of a knowledge park in the state, the first of its kind in Africa.
The objectives of the MOU include; technology innovation development and diffusion through technology incubation.
This is with with special emphasis on extended collaboration in current areas and initiatives such as the software innovation cup competition.
They also agreed to establish a software engineering Institute in the Tinapa Technology City as well as stimulate the formation of new knowledge-centric and technology-based industries amongst others.
Chris Uwaje, president, Ispon signed on behalf of his association while Ekpeyong Henshaw - Solicitor general/permanent secretary, Government of Cross River State signed for the state government.
