CWG Bags U.S. International Partner Awards

Computer Warehouse Group (CWG) received the International award for outstanding achievement in supporting American-Nigerian trade at the recent United States International partner Forum and Awards held in Lagos and the company is happy about it.

The U.S. International Partner Forum and Awards is an annual event organized by the United States Commercial Service (CS), the trade promotion arm of the U.S. Department of Commerce's International Trade Administration with an objective to honour Nigerian business people who promote U.S. products and services and who have contributed significantly to the achievement of the goals and objectives of the U.S. Commercial Service Nigeria (CS Nigeria). 

Thus, CWG was identified as the foremost Information and Technology Company in Nigeria in the first award category at that this year’s International Partner Award.

It was confirmed that Austin Okere, founder and group chief executive of CWG is one of the most proactive promoters of U.S. exports and commercial interests in Nigeria.

He was one of the pioneers of the NUSA (Networking with the United States of America) program.

CWG being anaggregate ICT company enables businesses using the three facets of ICT; Hardware, communication and Software.

Consequently, CWG has three divisions; CWL Systems, DCC Networks and ExpertEdge respectively handling the business needs of the clients in the three aspects of ICT.

These divisions work with and represent several US firms including Cisco, IBM, Symantec, Oracle and Dell amongst others.

Also, it was noted that Computer Warehouse Group recorded transactions valued over $46 million with its US associates during the period under review.

Aside from Mr Okere’s entrepreneurial prowess, he is anardent entrepreneurial advocate equipping young entrepreneurs in USA and other parts of the globewith his wealth of knowledge and experience in entrepreneurship.

Presently, he is an entrepreneur in residence in Columbia Business School (CBS), New York and also guest lectures at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Boston.

The aforementioned factors contributed to the special award given to CWG.

The organizers of U.S. International Forum and Awards also stated that, The Computer Warehouse Group is now described as a Pan African ICT company with regional offices in West, East and Central Africa.

It was on this note that the International Partner award for Commercial Innovation and Trade Development was given to Mr Okere in recognition of CWG’s large volume of imports of U.S. ICT products and sustained promotion of Nigerian-American trade in Nigeria and Across Sub-Saharan Africa.

Dayo Abegunde, associate vice president of Computer Warehouse Group received the award on behalf of CWG.

Dayo stated that CWG is a Company built on quality customer service, honesty and transparency. Hence has been able to build good relationships with world-class OEMs like Dell, Oracle, Cisco, EMC, and Symantec among others with the singular objective to enable businesses across sectors in Africa with cutting edge technology.

“This we have consistently achieved” He said. Abegunde also expressed gratitude to the organizers of the event and promised that CWG will not relent in ensuring quality services and consistently abiding by the rules and regulations of the regulatory bodies.


The forum among other activities featured interactive session with a representative of Standard Organization of Nigeria (SON) on products standard–promotingNigerian-American Trade through Registration and Enforcement of Standards in International Trade.

Rebecca Armand, Commercial Counsellor, also shared her insights and lessons learned over the past three years of her appointment for promoting and facilitating US-Nigerian Trade.
