Two weeks after it recommenced flight operations in the Nigeria domestic market, Dana Air has taken delivery of a Boeing 737-500 in the first phase of its fleet renewal and upgrade.
The recommencement of flight operations by the airline follows the successful outcome of the operational audit of the airline by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority( NCAA).
Yvan Drewinsky, chief operating officer of the airline, had on January 27 in a chat with aviation reporters on the resumption of operations following the lifting of its suspension on its successful audit by NCAA said as part of its plan, the airline would be embarking on fleet upgrade.
The Dana New Aircraft Boeing 737-500 arrived at the Murtala Mohammed Airport-2, Ikeja, on Wednesday.
It will be recalled that NCAA had on Sunday, October 6, 2013, announced the total grounding of the operations of the airline following the air return it had on its Port Harcourt- Abuja route.
