Deloitte, notable for providing industry-leading audit, consulting, tax, and advisory services to many of the world's most admired brands and Lagos Business School (LBS), the graduate business school of the Pan-Atlantic University, Nigeria, have expressed intent to launch a forum on business insights.
Tagged, "Deloitte/LBS Business Insights Roundtable forum", Nigeria CommunicationsWeek gathered that the forum will examine how companies can leverage disruptive innovation to re-define markets by developing disruptive and transformational products or businesses to serve new markets or customers; introduce incremental changes that differentiate the organisation from competition by expanding into adjacent markets and seek steady improvements by optimizing existing (core) products for existing customers.
Fatai Folarin, chief executive officer of Deloitte Nigeria and Regional Leader for Deloitte West Africa, and Enase Okonedo, dean of LBS, will lead the launch at the new Deloitte Nigeria Office, Civic Towers, Plot GA 1, Ozumba Mbadiwe Way, Victoria Island, Lagos.
Deloitte
“Deloitte” is the brand under which tens of thousands of dedicated professionals in independent firms throughout the world collaborate to provide audit, consulting, financial advisory, risk management, tax and related services to select clients.
Each DTTL member firm is structured in accordance with national laws, regulations, customary practice, and other factors, and may secure the provision of professional services in its territory through subsidiaries, affiliates, and other related entities.
Not every DTTL member firm provides all services, and certain services may not be available to attest clients under the rules and regulations of public accounting.
DTTL and each DTTL member firm are legally separate and independent entities, which cannot obligate each other.
The DTTL member firm in Nigeria is Akintola Williams Deloitte.
Lagos Business School
On the other hand, the Lagos Business School (LBS), according to Wikipedia page, started in 1991 as a small institution called the Centre for Professional Communications (CPC) and offered management courses relevant to the Nigerian business environment.
The school was previously owned by the African Development Foundation (ADF), a Nigerian not-for-profit educational foundation, but is now owned by the Pan-Atlantic University Foundation.
In 1996, LBS began a joint Executive MBA with IESE Business School, Barcelona while it applied for a license to operate as a private university with a view to begin offering an MBA programme.
In January 2002, the Federal Government granted approval for the establishment of Pan-African University, and Lagos Business School thus became the first school of the Pan-Atlantic University (then Pan-African University) able to offer its own Executive programme.
The full-time MBA programme was added in 2003 to develop younger professionals as functional managers with global perspectives and practical management knowledge relevant to the Nigerian business environment.
Lagos Business School is ranked among the best business schools in the world.
