DHL Express Bags ‘Courier Operator of the Year in Nigeria’@BoICT Award

DHL, the world’s leading express delivery and Logistics Company, recently celebrated the great feat of winning two prestigious awards within one week.

 The “Courier Operator of the Year” award at the Beacon of Information and Communication Technology award  2014 organized by Communications Week Media, the popular tech weekly newspaper in Nigeria, was in recognition of DHL’s achievements as an exceptional international firm operating in Nigeria.

 The Beacon of ICT Awards was instituted to reward the vision and enterprise of individuals and companies that have contributed to the growth of the ICT industry.

 Communication Week said the objectives of the awards were to evaluate and recognize standards of excellence in the country’s quest for growth and development in the use of ICT.

 According to ken Nwogbo, publisher and editor-in-chief, Nigeria CommunicationsWeek, DHL emerged tops in the award category in an online poll conducted from December 2013 to March 30, 2014, in which over 250,000 respondents participated.

 Also, DHL was decorated at the Nigeria Transport Awards.

“This recognition is reflective of DHL’s strength as the dominant express and logistics provider of choice in Nigeria. Furthermore we continue to offer innovative solutions to a growing consumer market especially in the life sciences and telecommunications sector and to the emerging SME market,” said Randy Buday, country manager for DHL Nigeria.

 Speaking at the Awards also, Chrysanthus Okereke, DHL Nigeria country commercial manager, said, “We are extremely pleased to have won this award for the second consecutive year. The Nigeria Transport Award was designed to recognize players (companies and individuals) in the Nigerian Transport and Logistics industry covering all modes of transportation.

 The ceremony was organized by Transport Day Newspaper and supported by the Nigerian Television authority (NTA), The Nigerian Transport Round Table (NTRT) as well as the editors union of Nigerian newspapers.
