Eastman Joins IDC Energy Insights to Spearhead Utilities IT Strategies Practice

The International Data Corporation (IDC) Energy Insights on Tuesday announced industry veteran, Robert Eastman, has joined the team as a Research Manager for the Utilities IT Strategies practice.  

In this role, Robert will be responsible for research on the application of information technology in the context of the utility business.

His research will cover topics such as IT budget and strategy, analytics architecture related to customer, operations and trading, penetration and use cases for cloud, mobility, big data and analytics and social business in utilities, and the services landscape.

Most recently, Robert was a senior analyst at Technology Evaluation Centers, a Canadian-based analyst firm, and Calyptus Consulting, where he was a consultant to public sector and government-regulated clients. He also co-founded SMB Research, a technology analyst firm serving the small-to-medium business (SMB), mid-sized, and enterprise business sectors. Previously, Robert spent 12 years at AMR Research (now Gartner).
