Ecobank, Vitamalt “The Entrepreneur†Show Excites Nigerians
Ecobank and Vitamalt have joined forces to invest in innovative social enterprise that will help all the micro entrepreneurs to achieve a positive impact, empowering small businesses and alleviating poverty; it inspires to contribute to national development.
To this end the two corporate giants have taken the wrapper of a TV reality series ‘The Entrepreneur’ tailored to give Nigerians with small businesses or business ideas the chance to grow such businesses through free funding. 60 people will have the opportunity of accessing up to N1 million by convincing a panel of four with their ideas.
Auditions for the programme which will be held in Kano, Aba and Lagos have seen rush by prospective participants to get signed on as broadcasts will begin soon.
According to Mrs. Yemi Wilde-Halim, head of corporate affairs and communications, Ecobank Nigeria PLC, the reality show is designed in such a way to have most of the selected participants as winners, provided they have convincing business ideas.
‘The Growing Business Foundation (GBF) and the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency (SMEDAN) were brought into the process to ensure that only people with doable business ideas are selected at the auditioning stage’ she added.
Candidates selected at the auditioning stage will face a panel which comprises four people namely chairman, the sdviser, the banker and the business angel.
Goke Dokun, executive director of Inspire Media, organizers of the show, explained that the panel will scrutinize each candidate’s idea, for relevance and content.
