Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested retired Air Commodore Idongesit Nkanga, a former military administrator of Akwa Ibom State and chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

He is alleged to have collected N450m from the sleazy $115m deposited by Diezani Allison- Madueke, former minister of Petroleum Resources, with Fidelity Bank, Plc.

According to an EFCC source, Nkanga was arrested in Port- Harcourt, Rivers State yesterday.

He allegedly to have collected the money in two tranches, from Mr. Saint- Anthony Ejiowu, a member of staff of Fidelity Bank in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State..

The source said the first tranche of N350m was collected on March 27, 2015 while the second tranche of N100m was collected on March 31, 2015.

He is said to be in the custody of the EFCC and will be in court soon.
